Breeding Philosophy
Cher Car Kennels strives to produce the working dog that you remember from childhood. Our breeding stock is selected on the basis of sound temperament, longevity and health. All dogs used in our breeding program are x-ray cleared (hips and elbows) with O.F.A. certification obtained at the appropriate age, as it sometimes makes no difference how intelligent a dog may be if it suffers from physical faults that restrict or inhibit the dog from performing tasks required.Our goal for the last thirty plus years has been to produce a healthy, great tempered, physically correct and fit dog that is also beautiful to look at and a credit to the breed.

Our puppies are raised with love and lots of socialization on our country farm setting; around horses, goats, dogs and puppies … plus people in obedience class, boarding clients and lots of friends.
They are aptitude tested at 7 weeks of age and matched with prospective owners who have undergone in-depth interviews to determine the best puppy for their needs.

These puppies grow up to fulfill duties as police dogs, guide and physical assistance dogs, search and rescue dogs, obedience, agility and conformation dogs, racers and ratters; and most importantly, exceptional family companions and protectors.
